Restoring Africa's Health
AIDS, malaria, and malnutrition have robbed many Africans of their youth and life. However, a growing number of healthcare practitioners are confronting some of Africa’s toughest challenges with exciting innovations in healthcare and offering hope to countless men, women, and children.
To address the problem, African and American healthcare professionals are partnering to restore African lives and form a generation of new leaders in the process. For instance, Malaria No More is making strides toward eradicating a treatable and preventable disease that claims 900,000 African lives every year. The IU-Kenya partnership can boast one of the most comprehensive approaches to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment in sub-Saharan Africa. The multi-initiative RAPIDS model focuses on a sustainable, community led response to the HIV/AIDS crisis. These three models are featured as exemplary cases of pragmatic compassion.
